I know this is a Toyota forum but it's got good response so thought I'd post this here. Looking at civic's around a 97' or 98' ... Discovered theres loads of different kinds lmao! Looking at the 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6.. I'd obviously get a VTEC though, but which engine model or car model should i choose? Or should i say which is the best ones? I've been told an ek9 1.6 vtec is the best but i would'nt get insurance of one of them, any other good Civic's? Which is the worst, and which is the best? Just so i don't buy a crap one thats all. Any info/help on the this will be much appreciated, cheers :).

The b16 or b18 are the best engines to choose imo. The EG chassis is the lightest so better power to weight ofc, but i think all the civics tend to handle very similarly.

As Aiden said above the SiR is a great model to choose but get the 1.6.

Cut long story short, got banned for 2 years for drink driving, dangerous driving, no licence and no insurance when i was 16. Like 18 now, nearly 19, looking to buy a glanza or starlet, turbo model. got like 10k+ to spend as i've been working since i left school as an international and olympic boat builder. Any chance i can get insured on one of these with them convictions that were done on 10th november 2007.. Done advanced driving test as it was part of the court order to get my licence back. Got a quote for like 29 grand, WTF?! can anyone help?

Judging by this post from your last thread you wont get insured on anything with a v-tec engine. You say your nearly 19 but when you click on your profile is says
Date of Birth

My advice to you would be go way and get a 1 liter learn how to drive and get a few years under you belt maybe get a good ncb then think about getting something quick.
