Injectors

Hi , there i have a set of 360cc injectors. I had a set of 380cc (mr2 / celice ) before these and my A/F gauge gave me correct readings. 14.7 idle.. 11.8 Wot.

But now as soon as i fitted the 360cc the A/F is reading 10.0 on idle. I tried reducing pressure but with 25psi it still read about 11.00 on idle.

Anyone with same problem as I have a friend with the same problem!

Thats odd, you fit smaller injectors and the AFR becomes richer?

Can you post the part numbers from both sets of injectors please.

They are Mazda 323 turbo high impedance injectors, should work fine where the 3S injectors were working.

Only thing I can think of is there is 1 stuck open.

may also be something to do with the spray pattern differences?..if you look at the bottom of the injectors they are different....the 360cc are from a mazda and the 380cc are toyota
maybe the toyota ecu prefers "stock toyota" injectors???-----though i suppose both are made by denso

i always hear people/tuners talking about injector dwell time, lag time, etc...maybe these affect how various injectors perform

if i remember correctly, stock 360 mazda injectors are sometimes also rated at 380cc depending

the link shows a few pics you can compare the bottom section

Yes I have this issue too , overfueling more than expected. I am using the 360's at the moment they give good response but need -48% fuel at 800 rpm on safc2 at stock fuel pressure even though they are only 13.3% larger than stock 290cc at stock fuel pressure. They are physically longer than stock injectors and I think they put in more fuel because of the lower lag time compared to starlet injectors I have read they are used on the n/a mazda at 3 bar as 360cc as well as at lower pressureas 330cc (approx) on the turbo mazda .

Standard Fuel pressure
Vacuum hose disconnected @ idle: 2.3-2.7 kg/cm² 32.71 psi - 38.4 psi

I am stock fuel pressure but still had to take out more fuel especially at idle using a safc2.

Ok I think the link below might be the answer.
I know witchhunter tests these at 360cc at 3 bar (43.5 psi ) presumably the 13.6ohms ones.

This test shows 420cc at standard pressure - http://kgparts.com/index.php?page=injectorflowrates
195500-2130 static flow tested as 14.6ohm 3bar (43.5 psi ) are 420cc

I confirm this 14.6ohm test agrees with my dyno fueling which had the safc removing 25% fuel to give 11.9 afr at 6800 rpm .
