ya dont! The day's of young lads getting insured on these car's are over. Insurance company's arent stupid, they know what there car's are. Even go no Quinn direct's site and put in the reg and they can tell ya what type of car it is

i would agree with galen on this one that it is practically impossible....

you might do name driver but at that it would cost a fortune and be hard enough to get.....

best thing to do would be get yourself a different class of car,sit your test and wait a year or two and then try.....

Or u have a smash before u get caught and the insurance company doesnt pay out and ur left with a bashed up starlet and the bill for the £30,000 BMW u hit.

Not worth it mate, wait til ur older and do it right.

Not worth it in my opinion, I still get to use my Starlet very little on the road only really covered to drive to my race events.

I just dont get paying £££'s for insurance, best bet is to wait.

Even if you insurance with your parents as the main driver, your still fronting and risk a non payout, which like Ian said, you stick it into an expensive motor you have alot of money to find.

I wasnt able to get insurance until i was 18, even back then i paid £2300 on a 10 months policy.

Why not think about a UK Starlet and build up your NCB.

dont bother half insurin it!
all ur doin is payin for a bit of invalid paper and risking your licence..
im only 17 or a prov but im workin 2 years.pay for all my stuff and insurance..
and i like my car and appriciate it..

if u just like the look of it get a gi or glanza s.
gt's arent an ordinary car. they attract attention that u dont want if ur not insured. what ever happened since i got insured they wont even give my father an online quote on a gt. there tightening up and young people starting off on these will be comin to an end.

yeah but if i put in the reg of some gt's it just says 3door starlet.
if that wat it comes up as y wouldn't i insure it as that?
because if there is no gt turbo badges on it,
it is a 3door starlet?

Because if you dont insure it as a turbo your not actually insured. If you had an accident and they find out the car's a turbo (and they will find out!) you could be done for fraud!
I know a lot of lads insured turbo's as normal starlet's up until recently, but insurance company's and gaurd's know these car's now.
Ive been stopped lots of time's and the gaurd's have asked if the car was insured as a turbo and have asked for the insurance policy.

Seriously lad its not worth doing, you will get caught out, possibly loose your licence and will find it near impossible to get insurance again.
Just get a normal car, drive it for a few year's, build up your no claims bonus, get your full licence and then get a turbo.

its ridiculous to see how many people on here want to get insured on a glanza v, and are thinking of insuring is as a non turbo!! especially around the 17 age agroup, why dont you just drive a normal first car...(like young drivers are meant too) like a corsa, civic or clio, or something with a smallish engine...then save up and get a glanza when you can actually afford to insure it! i know people say they really want something fast, but wouldnt everyone! when i was 17 i wanted an evo but could i afford one NO....people like you who try and con the insurance system is why the insurance premiums are so high for everyone else!! playing negligent and saying "thats what the reg came up with on the system, as a 3 door starlet" is not a good excuse! the police and insurance will not give a shit, its up to you to insure the car as its meant to be, its clear to them and you, that you knew it was a turbo.....and i think its a bad idea to be suggesting on a public forum that you are thinking of insuring your car illegally and committing fraud....go away and look at something else is what i would say mate
