Looking to get broadband in my new place but this area doesn't have 'fibre optic' which sucks... Can anyone recommend me a decent broadband company that doesn't have any of this 'fair usage stuff' like BT, Virgin, Sky, Plusnet+ etc as they all limit it when I'd be using it!

Thanks, rep will be added!

Virgin limit it? I forgot they did :haha:

Im running Virgin Broadband and its on every day mate and being used everyday and never once hit there limit. Cant remember if im 10mb or 20mb but its fast enough for what i use it for.

Some companies that do no FUP are:

Fast 4:

But they do have a fee if you decide to leave them

in the event that you wish to move providers or cancel the service provided to you, within the first 12 months you will be liable to pay a fee equivalent to the connection fee that you would have paid if the service had not been offered with free connection. These fees are currently £85 including VAT for new connections and £20 including VAT for migrating in customers.

Or

UKOnline

UKOnline may have a FUP of upto 500gbpm ... but would you use that? :haha:

I use Tiscali and it's pretty good. "only" 8MB but that seems to be fast enough for online games and streaming audio.

Yeah I was with Virgin Media at my rents house and had a 20mb line but they have a system that if you download more than 1.5 GB between I think 9am and 12pm then 13pm - 11pm then they limit to speed to around 75% so you only really get 25% of the speed lol.... The only one they don't limit is the 50mb fibre optic but I can't get that in my new place :( - BT have a limit that if you use more than 30GB in a month they limit you for 30 days which sucks! I'll have a look at the 2 you posted could be an option... I don't think I could use 500gb a month lol :D

Is the o2 through ADSL (phone line) or fibre optic? may be worth a look!

tbh anything around 10mb should be pretty good for my needs aslong as it's not limited! Cheers rep to all

Thats sucks you can't have Virgin media.

Whatever you do, don't go for AOL - the worst possible ISP ever!!

Sky, Tiscali have had good reviews with friends. Excange locations apparently play a big part with providers, if you want to settle with a company, find out where the closest is to you. Closer the better. That's what i've been told.

Cheers buddy, whats more annoying is Virgin Media exchange is just accross the road from me basically! but there seems to have been a problem with door numbers so have to do a search under 70a instead of 74 or something along those lines lol!

May have to go with sky if that fail's they seem to have a reasonable deal and an alright package :D

Repp!

Did you decide on anyone mate?

Not sure if there policies have changed since i took out my contract, but I rinse my net with no caps and quite a good upload speed for work.

Bethere.co.uk I think we pay 13 quid or so a month (might be less) and this connection happily runs 2 xbox's online at same time as well as PC downloading (at a capped rate)

ADSL though, so I've had more drops than when I was with Virgin runnining the coaxial cable types.
