exhaust baffle or butterfly valve

so they're just clamping down on noise levels..? you can get an exhaust baffle for that. easy fix. just until they leave you alone then whip it out and continue frightening all the neighborhood kittens.. :D

or.. you could get the remote butterfly valve that sits somewhere mid-way between one of the exhaust joiners and has a butterfly flap/valve that can be controlled from inside the cabin.. i remember someone mentioned it here. don't have the link anyway..

They have supposedly been clamping down on exhausts for the last few years, in my experience it all depends on the Garda who stops you.

Just fit a middle silencer to the exhaust and be done with it, it will pass any noise test then and it wont be causing a restriction like the exhaust valve's or baffles do. Let the boy's with the Honda's make all the noise

99db is seriously loud if your cars louder than that at 3000rpm I dont know how you could drive round without ear muffs lol

99db is fair but how will stupid cops check it i know of a lad who they tested his car and it was done at about 6000 dont think anythin came of it tho
and also should this not be done properly like a metre from car and half a metre off the ground or somethin like that
i think thats the way they check them at track days...am i right anybody know??

We get a £30 fine if it's too loud and after three seperate fails they can impound your car. I think the test it at 3000 rpm because thats the loudest the exhaust is stationery. Might be wrong but i'm sure thats what he told me.
