Irish MOT same as english?

Hi just a quick question, If I was to sell my car to somebody in ireland would my MOT be valid or would it need a new irish one?

Depends Ireland contains two different countries.North and South.North a mainland Mot is good to go.South is totally different and has whats known as NCT so a UK Mot is not worth the paper it's printed on.Hope that clears that up for you.
