Is my aem sensor dead?????

We've been told our sensor is in the perfect place but we still have probs! when the car gets REAL warm (ie after booting it ) it stops working and gets the three dashes across the screen later it will come back alive (im assuming when its cooled down) :S

Same place i put mine just behind the gearbox and seems to be working fine so far.

If its showing 3 dashes after start up the car is running too rich, i.e. under 10:1

Could be.

Mine does it if I put the foot on the clutch and come off the gas, it takes a while to settle and will display "- - -".

As long as it gives you a reading when on the gas and especially WOT then I wouldn't worry too much.


I'll have a look in the manual.

just wired mine in, keeps saying 10.0 then --- . i don't think my car is running rich as the plugs are a nice brown colour and when it went for MOT last week the tested said it was running lean on idle.

Mine idles at around 13.6-14.6. Also mine is in the downpipe, a little closer than it should be.

it's in for rolling road setup next week so i'll know for def then whether i'm running rich as fook or if the gauge/sensor is bollocksed (more likely)
