Issues removing a >98 SPEC!!!< Steering wheel. - Help needed!

I've read the guide etc on the 96 spec. The 98 is different.

Now, there's 2 HEX screws that can be undone. But, they dont come all the way out once there loose spin and spin easily and freely. I Presume this is to stop them being lost as they hold the airbag.

Once there both undone, a tug at the airbag.. and nothing. I looked around the wheel saw nothing else that can be undone to aid removing the airbag. I spent 5 minutes spining the hex's to no avail.

Am i missing something here? - Has someone removed a 3 spoke 98 spec before and can give me some guidance?

The screws on hold the air bag in.

You need to be bit patient with it and pull the air bag towards yourself and undo the screw at the same time. Do a bit at a time on each side and you will start to feel the airbag becoming more free

I did also try this.. Just didn't do anything.

It becomes loose..(er) but not enough to come off!?

hi lad the screw you loosened on the left of the steering wheel there should be another screw beside it you have to screw it out as well to allow the air bag to come off, also the 19mm centre nut holding the steering wheel on don't screw it all the way off cause you could hit yourself in the face while trying to pull the steering wheel off. lol

So the LEFT one comes all the way out? Should i pry it out?
