Jet Wash Your Engine

its at your own risk bud! theres alot of electrical components on a glanza/gt engine, alot of gadgets, distributor cap, ecu etc could do real damage... however what you can do which i would advise is to go to local motor factor,s and buy good engine degreaser and get a lend of a steam washer, or even a very light trickle out of a hose and wash it off and use a few towels and dry it and it should come out well!

You can use a jet wash or steam cleaner, just keep the lance a good distance away from the engine bay. You only want to use the water spray to clean and not the pressure of the water spray.

As better suggested, spray on a degreaser such as Gunk or Autoglym Machine cleaner, agitate it with a brush and then wash it off with a hose pipe set to sprinkle, but try and avoid spraying water directly onto the distributor.

Once you've finished, dry as much as you can with some towel, you'll probably need to pull the plug leads off and dry out the ends of the leads and the spark plug wells, then it would be best to spray some water dispersant such as GT85 or WD40 over all of the electrical connections in the engine bay. Lastly start the engine up to make sure it runs without any misfires and then let it idle for a while with the bonnet closed to dry everything off.

or b4 u start the whole process, take ya dizzy off and leads out, spray a heap of contact cleaner on them and then spray with lanolin oil, put it back together and then degrease, let soak, and then pressure wash :)

i do it all the time (like once a month) and i have never gained a miss fire or anything, its all about preporation fella's :)

Anytime I've jet washed/ steamed and engine I cover the dizzy etc with plastic bags and elastic bands.
Never had any problems.

Also the tips above using wd40 etc are well worth taking on board.
