this year the record of the world's fastest rotary was broken by just 0.01 of a second lol.. heres the new record holder:

power wise i dont think we have been behind, but you take somewhere over developed (infastructure wise) like japan or somewhere small like malta or somewhere with the opposite issue america/austrailia and you find corners arent needed and everything is about straight line speed so naturally when it comes to testing there car as amatuers they look for a nice straight, and professionally too they going to head for the strip.

in the uk/sweden/france/finland/belgium/germany, we breed rally drivers/touring car drivers/kart racers whose aim is to go as fast as possible against other people with equal machinery, its about sheer lunacy coupled with skill.

so im with luke, i think its solely a lack of interest. and i cant see it changing, argue about whos strip is uphill or too short all day, but i dont think the UK has ever had an issue making power, its that we need that power to do so much more than a 1/4mile.. therefore we arent going to get times.

if someone bothered setting up a gt turbo solely for drag and had the necessary skill to get a good time they could head to the pod and do so. i dont see why not.

Well said!!!!:) Could not agree more!..one point though... car + driver + resources! If someone had the money and the drive too do it, definitly a serious drag ep could be had this side of the world

Dont get me wrong i think it would be cool to have a few goes at a circuit, but man nothing beats the feeling like a qtm, i love it, personally i wish malta had a much better track than the shit surface we have here.. it bumpy as hell & the pores of the track are as clogged as Courtney's veins.. :shoot: :haha:

If only we had a track surface like the NHRA track... lol or at least like Santa Pod lol.. we dont even have enough breaking distance for Top Fuel cars waaaaaaaaaaaaa :shoot:

something like this.. the 2009 Las vegas NHRA finals http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzGUITHanfY

isnt that motorsports though.. after all we are all chasing faster times & more powerful rides.. which in the end of the day we enjoy for less time, but then pat ourselves on the back when we do a great time.. even though it actually means spending less actual time doing that run lol... if u get what i mean :)

It seems fair enough if you don't have access to a racing circuit, but the majority of racing circuits here have 1/4 miles built into them ;) So it's hard to see the attraction!
