Knocking

Hi all, don't know if this is the right section but I think I have an issue with my offside driveshaft! Basically I had to have a replacement CV boot fitted a month or two ago, and since then I have began to notice a knock whilst on full left hand lock and going at a fairly brisk speed (Can't hear anything if progressing slowly). I've also noticed that I now have a rotational binding sound, it can be felt and heard whilst going at various speeds.. Its only slight but its there, to top it off my ABS light is on all the time so I'm wondering if its not all connected somehow and the ABS sensor hasn't been damaged in the process.. For what its worth the people that did the CV boot weren't exactly specialists but they had me by the balls with the MOT

Don't know if its all connected or not, but any suggestions of what to look for would be fantastic :)

Thanks in advance!

not 100% sure but if the abs light stays on i think its a bid failure somewhere.. try doin a abs diagnostic test to see what codes come up

Well it did intermittently start and stop working when I first began to have issues, but it got progressively less frequent that it would work and now the bloody thing doesn't want to go off!

Yea that's what I had thought, I certainly think its something to do with the work they've done.. Any ideas what the knocking could be though? Again think its related to d/shaft?

It sounds like shoddy work has created a few problems for you, taking it back to them is the right thing to do, but I would not trust them to do the work on it.

I would take it back to them and give them the impression that you want them to fix it, but as its near Xmas and money is tight, ask for an estimate of what is needed and the cost. Then take it elsewhere and do the same, then go back to them and use this info to try and get some money back for what they charged you for the MOT bill.

If they fucked up changing a boot, I wouldnt let them near a brake or CV joint issue on my car.
