Hi Guys,

Just a quick question how good are KYB shocks?
are they comfortable?
my excel ones are very bouncy and uncomfortable.

Thanks in advance.

Or if funds allows, you can always go for coilovers such as the Zeta-R.
That way you can have some adjustments over the ride quality. :)

I think the kyb sr special shocks are the best shocks you can buy for the ep if you combine them with the correct springs. Much better than coilovers

Any comment about the comfort side of things I guess you cant have everything . Rosso above seems not too keen on the krb sr specials comfort but does not say what springs he is using.

Thanks for the reponses they are very helpful , I have been watching the srs like 'kash' because my old shocks & 205x40 tyres on a sera give very challenging handling and very noisy bumps but on a smooth road the car is a dream. It sounds like the srs benefit from good springs and give a worthwhile handling improvement.

@ H_D forgot to ask what profile tyres you have for comfy and how is the comfort level on rougher roads?

I drove a glanza fitted with a set of these. It was the most comfortable ride I've experienced in a starlet...period. I been using KYB GR2s with 134/184 F/R(lbs/inch) springs for years. They are good but the zeta-r coilovers are far better.
