Lacquer for rocker cover

Hi Guys,

I've had a look at all the threads on painting the rocker cover, but my question is
as i'm using toyota spray paint would it be best to do clear lacquer with the high temp clear lacquer will this stop the cracking effect i've seen on so many cars?

yeah, that should protect the paint from the high temperatures off the rocker cover. what sort of primer are you using? might be worth sprayin a high temp primer first, then the colour then a high temp lacquer, just to make sure its well protected.

high temp paint will be grand on its own then lacquer.. high temp paint is specially designed for cast items.. you wont need a primer

that is correct, however if you are using a non-high temp paint you will need the high temp primer first, otherwise the paint will react. if you are using a high temp paint then don't bother with the primer as corofin says.
