Lambda/Oxygen Sensor

took my baby for an MOT today but she failed on emmisions, then i got it plugged into computer which said its the oxygen/Lambda sensor..

Toyota want £315+VAT for a sensor, its the one for the top of the cat.

if anyone could help on this, as its quite urgent?

Thats not correct .. im sure there around £180-£200 from Toyota, i purchased one not long ago.

i got one of ebay mate. think i paid £15 for it. only a universal one but just had too wire too origional plug. an works perfect.

A 1 wire oxygen sensor is what you want, your local motor factors should have 1. Think the thread is M18, it should screw straight in then just connect the wires up.

did the mot station carry out a BASIC emisions test if so then im not sure its your lambda sensor (not saying it is ok it could also be faulty but shouldnt make it fail a basic test)
its not common to fail a basic emisions test mine passed with fucked rings i was well shocked...but you carnt argue with the machine!
just check they did a basic emisions also as above the universal ones on ebay are fine i also have one fitted .
sounds like the garage is after some work .......
