Leaking I/C pipe?

Was out it the gt today on a good run and near home i noticed the bov changed sound all together, its an hks ssq, it started dumping like when its on the easiest/softest setting (I think, the hissing kind of sound?) its set up to run a bar but i noticed on the boost gauge it was rapidly dropping off to 10psi. Also, no matter what setting i put the bov at, it makes the same noise? (by adjusting the screw at the back)
Ive got a front mounted filter so normally the turbo sucks pretty loud but seems a bit quieter too?

Any ideas? Could it be a leak in the I/C pipework or a fucked bov?
Got a fmic too.

Cheers for any help, let me know if i need to try explain anything any better!

doesnt sound like an issue with ur bov nor ur front mounted intake.prob not enough pressure to open the bov. more than likely a split in ur intercooler pipework. u can normally notice a change in intake sound though. take it ur running standard ct9? they have been known to crack around the wastgate which will cause boost pressure loss, but hopefully not that serious!

Yeah running ct9@1bar.

Im pretty sure there was a change in intake sound, doesnt sound as loud. The bov is definately dumping but theres also a chatter, thought that could have been surge if the bov wasnt dumping but it is?
Whats the best way to check the intercooler pipework? Just tighten up all the clips and check for splits and leaks?

Hope its something simple! Cheers for the reply

Fro, take the dump valve off and blank the pipe off. retest and see if your still loosing boost.

yeah could try that. the hks bov is pretty good though, never had issues with any of mine. if u had a split pipe u would hear it quite noticeably, would defo be louder! not quieter. so def give the above idea a go

Block the pipe where the bov is yeah? What about the vacum pipe thats on the end? plug it too? will it be ok to give some stick with it like that that?
Theres definately something dodgy the way it just changed dumping sound all of a sudden?

It's virtually impossible for a HKS bov to leak because of the design that keeps the valve shut as long as there is any positive boost pressure. There must be a leak somewhere in your pipework. I would have said faulty stock actuator/cracked wastegate but your change was too sudden. I once had just a very small slit in one hose joining an i/c pipe. There was no loud whistle but I was losing boost pressure at high rpms. I only found the slit when I took all the pipework apart for inspection. Carefully inspect your connections, you may have to take the pipework apart as well. A small breech is easily missed.

I thought that.
Im hoping its a leak in the pipework and nothing serious! Cheers for the pointers folks.
