Hello there.

I'm wondering if there are any shops building extended wishbone for our starbos.
using proper balljoins kit as you can see on some other cars.

then do you know any Toyota donnor model which could provide us 4cm longer driveshafts ?

Nistarbo, the purpose is to enlarge the car for better handeling during rally session. (like building a starlet kitcar)

5e colin, any link/ pics ?

If its just an extension to the arm out to the hub keeping the existing mounting points then you are likely to have to go custom. Kit cars use seamless tubing about 15mm in diameter, but their arms are quite short so you might have to go thicker for the movement you want. Extending the wishbones, trc rod ends and driveshafts would be the easy bit, but would you not have to move the shock upper mount points also?

The shock top mount has a camberplate so they can be moved 2 cm outside. I think 4 cm longer wishbone should do. the size will actualy dépends on shaft I can find. I want to use standard shaft from other Toyota model, so I can source them easily in case of failure. (during rally season, things usualy break just before events... so it needs to be easy to source)

I'm looking for link and picture about custom wishbone. I need to understand and learn about it

This heim joint is a bad idea, as it has been used. No real race car designer/suspension engineer, will put a ball join in shear loads. The gems link above is the correct way to do it...

There are other ways to do it, just look at the whiteline ball joints for imprezas...

Fabricating a pair of wishbones isn't that hard...but it changes a lot the suspension geometry. It's not that through the top mount you can "reduce" camber. Scrub radious, roll center possition and camber gain characteristics are affected, a lot...

true, I can see how it would be weak, perhaps the heim joint would allow the lower arm to be adjusted and prototyped before a tubular lower arm is made.

What I'm wondering is how much you will be able to widen each side at the wishbone before you will run into drive shaft problems?
There is a small bit of play in stock driveshafts, you might get 8/10mm before you need to start looking for longer shafts.
