Malpassi Fuel Pressure Regulator

Hello all!

A friend of mine would like to install a Malpassi Fuel Pressure Regulator .
There is no the stock regulator any more.

So, should he install the Malpassi and adjust it with or without it's vacuum hose ?

What's the pressure he has to adjust in idle ?

Thanks in advance for your help :homer:

^^ yeah i have heard they are poor quality in the past...

When it comes to something as important as controlling fuel, i would only go for a well known, well tested product... i.e.

Hey mates

Yaroglanzo is a very good friend of mine and i believe he need to double check
the standard fuel pressures and some details of the adjustment procedure!
I think he needs a second opinion over mine...;)

ok. but are all pressures (2,3 idle) same with any fuel regulator??
thats the question...
i mean tha with the stock regulator and 0,6 boost we have a pressure about 2,7 bar... (example)
with an aftermarket regulator?

Aidan, Blak_Mamber i have also heard that Malpassi, in some cases, are crap!

Chris (350ep70gr) i will read the topic you have linked to your post, i hope i'll make my mind with this ;)

The question is, does an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator have the same adjustement as the engine pressure grows up? :)

For example:

1) idle with stock regulator 2.4
2) 0.2 bar with stock regulator 2.5
3)0.3 bar with stock regulator 2.55
.
.
.
4)0.9 bar with stock regulator 2.7

If we adjust malpassi to have 2.4 idle, are we sure that it will also have the steps 1,2,3,4 ?

Well can vary a bit. Thats why texx in the link i posted has a small window there. Because all cars will not have same vaccum and all the regulators are not of the same internall force.
But generaly yes you need to search for these specific numbers. You should be in the window so ecu can correct everything or else even on 1% duty cycle could be a richer mixture than 14,7 afr or whatever oem ecu fueling is on idle.
On specific boost like 0.6 yes you need the same 2,7 bar regardless the regulator you use or else if this 2,7 varys you may run reacher or leaner.
Malpasi i think produce rising rate of 1/1 and 1/7 or something. You need your regulator to be 1/1.

I havent tested the way you put it mate but from my mind i would say yes you need to have the same steps.
Keep in mind that oem regulator isnt the example to follow as they become week over the years so if you have slightly over pressure there with the new regulator i would say it is ok.Also keep in mind that even from gauge to gauge indication can vary aswell.
You can always be adviced by your wideband wich is something more than nessecary when you play with the fuelling.
