map sensor error, maybe prob with fcd and safc2?

Right then heres my car with all its spec pretty much

im having a problem of the car getting the error code 31 (map sensor) what happens is the car is boosting then all of a sudden it hesitates a bit and all of a sudden it will just carry on.

i dont know if this is fuel cut or not?

ive been searching on all the starlet forums i know and cant find the solution to my problem.

i am getting a full service on my car in the next week or two and was going to get the garage to have a look, the thing is its a small 2 man garage, ive been going there a while and there very reasonable and honest aways tell me how it is. whilst there perfect mechanics they wont work on cars like my starlet much so i dont know if they will able to sort it out.

So from my searching i have read that the hks fcd can cause problems with the apexi safc 2 (which i have both) do you guys think that if i got an bcc instead, that would sort it out? Or i have been thinking of getting an emanage ultimate with the full harness kit or a power fc? do you guys think i should do this instead and get it remapped?

Sorry for the massive post but its my only option really.
any help would be much appreciated

hey mate, you are def hitting fuel cut, if you can drop the boost to below 0.8 bar then you will confirm this. i think its just the HKS FCD gone faulty so i would get a JAM FCD or greddy BCC and this will fix your problem, or even better get a piggy back ecu

I'm having a similar problem. I tried fitting an SAFC but couldn't get the car to start after so took it off. I already had an FCD fitted but the car was misfiring really badly so took that off. Now its ok but I occasionally get the odd misfire and the engine light comes on (is this fuel cut? I tried to video it the other day but it didn't record sound) I'm running 12psi boost with a FPR.

if i get a jam fcd or greedy bcc, do they use the same wires as the hks one? would this affect my fueling at all or anything else?
i need to find out more about piggeybacks i think i would go for the greedy ultimate with full harness, or get a power fc and i belive i would need the commander aswell.

then getting it mapped aswell there i absolutly no where in cumbria so im going to have to travel somewhere for it.

that sounds similar to my problem! i dunno if its missfire or fuel cut? i think i will get this hks shitbox scopped out and get a jam one or the greedy bcc (i havent seen these before)
