ECU of somesort a remap a 255lph pump would be a better option and your looking at about 190ish , you will also want a fmic, relocated air filter, decat a diff manifold an adjustable actuator incase you want 1bar ;)

what sort of modifications would bring it up to the 160bhp mark without increasing the boost

To be fair mate the only way you are going to see significant bhp gains is by raising the boost. All you can really do is help the engine breathe better with the likes of relocated air filter, full exhaust system, decat etc, that might get you some extra ponies, but u wont get much without more boost.

an adjustable actuator, fpr and fcd will see you 2 one bar with no problems... after that ud have to think about a bigger turbo and forged internals

Be fully aware of what your doing before you play with boost levels mate.

Ensure you have EVERYTHING you need... even just fitting a cat back and air filter can give you boost creep and fuel cut issues... then you wont be able to enjoy the car to its potential. I know, because i've been there, although every car seems different and I think your weather conditions will play a big part in creep too.

Decat is a pretty big no no without fuelling mods to go with it, as it will remove such a large restriction from the exhaust side of the turbo causing it to spool faster and effectively overboost to put it simply.

If your overboosting then you risk engine damage because either you'll be hitting fuel cut, not good or you may risk damage due to a restricted stock manifold.

If I was doing it I would use the following at the very minimum but of course this is only my opinion so you dont have to take any notice!

Ported stock manifold
Ported CT9 internal wastegate (to manage boost levels)
Decat
Air filter relocated to bumper
255lph fuel pump
Manual boost controller (to achieve 1bar)
HKS Fuel Cut Defender
Fuel pressure regulator

Thats probably at the minimum, and I would have the fuel regulator/defender setup properly by someone using det earphones so make sure your running safe.

EDIT: It would be advisable to uprate your cooling for 1Bar of boost, so either an RX7 top mount, or a FMIC of some sort.

I fitted a wepr manifold, de-cat and full exhaust system & got it up to 146bhp on standard boost.

Mods :

Emanage
Adjustable FPR
Walbro 255lph
FMIC
Wastegate at 1bar
Thermal 6mm nylon intake manifold gasket
stock exhaust mani (any idea how much to port this?)
Exhaust without cat, 2inch (may be too small)
CT9 stock
5efe pistons shaved flat (used to be dome)
No air filter at the moment (no worries, making pipes for one)

Do you think its power is good enough?

Dyno chart reads in PS, and Kg-m

Thanks!
