mercedes a140 seat belts jammed

hi people, ive just bought a smashed up a140 and the drivers seat belt is jammed and will not return and the other 3 are completly stuck solid. has anyone got any ideas on the problem? thanks

yes it has been in a minor crash but nothing serious. how is that resolved then?

new seatbelts, basically theres a explosive charge in each seatbelt and once in a crash they pull the belts tight to secure the passengers sound like thats whats happened to me. does it have an airbag? has that gone off?

so i have to buy 4 new seat belts then? no the airbags didnt go off they are fine

any more info would be great. ive now been told it could just be a sensor. anyone had this problem before?

dont know if this works for mercs

but u can take the seat belts out and dismantle them
basically take the plastic cover of ... there should be a small metal ball
in there ... theres a certain way to reset it so the belt works again

try a seach in google/merc forums

i have taken the seat belts apart and there is a metal wire that has wrapped round and snapped. looks like 4 new seat belts
