Reluctantly I have decided that I have come to the end of the project with my Glanza V and am putting it up for sale.

For sale: 1996 Toyota Glanza V

Item Condition: Mint!!!!

Price and price conditions: £5750

Extra Info: Copied from Pistonheads ad (please see my members garage for more detail).

Here is my 1996 Toyota Glanza V. I have had the car since Aug 2007 where it was imported as a fresh Grade 4 import from Japan. I have the inspection sheet to prove the import grade. The car was imported with 75,000 km's (46,000miles) on the clock. The car now shows 96,800 km's (60,000miles). I selected the car as the best standard car I could find as I wanted to carry out the modifications myself to a standard I was happy with. This will be one of the best Glanza V's in the UK and has been featured in Jap Performance Magazine 'readers cars' section. The Body work is almost unmarked and is in better condition than most 3 year old cars!

Taxed till end of Jan 2010
Mot'd till Aug 2010

The car has been meticulously looked after and has had no expense spared on it with well over £13,000 spent on the car since purchase. All of which is documented. Most parts on this car are less than 1 year old!!!

Forged Engine Rebuild :-

After carrying out some stage one modifications I wanted to take the car to the next level so at 82,000 km's the car was taken in for a fully forged rebuild which included Wiseco low compression forged pistons and rings, Scat forged conrods and ARP bolts, TRD headgasket and engine and gearbox mounts, new Toyota head bolts, cambelt and tensioner kit, all new Toyota gaskets and seals, new water and oil pump, new valve stem seals, crankshaft reground with new bearings and shells. The block was bored and honed and chemically cleaned plus the head was also stripped and cleaned. This was all carried out at Toyota Starlet specialist Toy Tuning and at the same time included their hybrid turbo kit and manifold though now runs a TM Developments TD04 turbo kit. The rebuild was not done because of any fault with the standard engine but simply to ensure the car would run the increased performance safely. The car now runs a Greddy Emanage piggyback ECU which was professionally installed and mapped by Weston Performance. The engine therefore is still brand new and runs beautifully at 1.4bar. I have a huge folder of receipts for every modification carried out. Other modifications to the car include :-

98 Spec front bumper
Laguna splitter
Carbon fibre Jam eyebrows
Air filter relocated to front bumper
Buddy Club Spec 2 exhaust system
Wiseco Forged Pistons and rings
Scat Forged Conrods
ARP conrod bolts

As you can see the car has been extensively modified and is now running at 246bhp and is a VERY quick lightweight car (under 900kg's) which will embarrass most cars on the road. The car currently has the rear interior section stripped out but I have all seats etc to return the interior to standard. I am an active member of the Toyota GT Turbo owners club and work for a company specialising in these cars and other Jap performance vehicles as a result this car has been meticulously maintained with oil changes using only fully synthetic 5w40 oil far more regularly than the recommended 5000km's. I can vouch for this car totally as all the work has been carefully researched and carried out by myself and being a fresh near standard import when purchased there is nothing that has not been checked and sorted. The car is not used everyday and has only covered a few thousand miles per year. Rarely used in the wet and fully undersealed. Cleaned using Meguiars products regularly and ALWAYS run on Shell V Power 99 Octane. The car also has a CAT 1 Toad Alarm with proximity warning module added.

Unfortunately this does not tell the full story and there is bound to be many things I have missed off so I would be more than happy to answer any queries you may have. I am in no rush to sell this car as Im not even convinced I want to sell it so will not be taking offers im afraid!

Mike i think your mad selling it but best of luck with the sale anyway

I know I have my doubts about it mate as I have no replacement lined up or can think of anything in budget that is more reliable and quicker than this as well as being quite cheap to run! Plus I know this car inside out now and I know it will run another 100k miles if needs be. I just fancy a change but we shall see as it does not seem to be a good time to sell....

Cheers mate for the kind words. It has come a long way indeed!

98/99 pah!? lol Its got the bumper what more could you want :p Carbon seat better than 98/99 spec. Bodywork better condition than most 98's out there, mileage lower than most 98's out there and mines forged with only 9000miles on the engine.

If only it was a 1998/1999 reg..

doesnt mean if its a 1998-1999 its better iv seen most 98-98 with higher milage than the 96

Defo worth the cash for the spec list.

Cheers fellas! Its ready to roll as is and its very quick now, or with a few mods is also ready for even more power! If I could afford it I'd keep it forever and run something along side it but unfortunately Im not that rich :(

Seriously thinking about keeping the old girl now. The market seems shit at the minute and people are letting great examples go for very little. Perhaps I will get the Whiteline rear ARB and Blitz Boost controller I was planning as next mods after all!! :p
