How can I know if my gt has the TRD Close Ratio Transmission? I´m wondering because at 100kmh (60mph) the engine is running at 3300rpms +/- in 5th gear. In 4th gear at 6000rpm i'm going like at 140kmh (88mph)

Is that normal????? BTW my gt also has lsd.

Could it be a TRD gearbox?

That would mean its a factory LSD. What he's seeing is the VLSD attachment. TRD doesn't sell a gearbox, they sell a gear kit which can be installed inside the standard gearbox.

So every gearbox with factory Lsd has a closest ratio? My gt has factory Lsd

From my knowledge the factory LSD box has the same standard gear ratio

Unless you bought these cars directly from the factory, you wouldn't know what you got till you check it out yourself.

The car may have a wheel/tyre package that is different. However, I do remember someone pulling out a final drive from a factory VLSD and indicating that the teeth count made it have a higher ratio.

rolling diameter = ((tyre width in mm x tyre profile)/25.4 to convert to inches)x2 + rim size
195mm x .5 = 97.5mm/25.4 = 3.8inches x 2 = 7.6inches + 15inches = 22.6
205mm x .4 = 82mm/25.4 = 3.2inches x 2 = 6.4inches + 16 = 22.4

As you can see here, this is why I don't use 45 series 16-inch tyres on the Starlet. Besides more tyre scrub you'll lengthen the gearing.

so, my understanding from the chart shows that its better to run 205/40/16 VS 195/50/15?

i have two other wheel+tire combos in mind.......205/50/15 VS 195/45/15.

205mm x .5 = 102.5mm/25.4 = 4.04inches x 2 = 8.08inches + 15inches = 23.08
195mm x .45 = 87.75mm/25.4 = 3.46inches x 2 = 6.92inches + 15 = 21.92
