I think the ktm 125 would throw him about a little much, there powerful. Start of with a 4 stroker like the Honda or even a ktm/ Honda cr 85cc. Will be more than enough for a ten year old I would have though, good size aswel

surely buying a cheapish second had bike to begin with may be a better idea? then he can smash it up as much as he wants. when he gets a bit better/more confident then get him something a bit nicer ;) just my 2 cents!

Yeh 125 defo too big and too much power, if you go for an 85cc 2stroker u wont go wrong, wouldnt get a 4 stroke to start with, if he gets quick on a 2stroke first then he will be flying when he moves on to a 4stroke in a year or so:) i would reccomend honda as to start off on they are reliable and the best handeling in my opinion. Hope this helps.

Agree with that. Get him a Honda cr 85cc, perfect for a young one

Would have to agree with Duncan here plus you know how quick kids get bored with things. Not saying he will but incase he does it's not gonna be such a big waste of cash if he does.

To an extent thats rite enough but dont go the other way and waste your money on a scrapper, i buy a new bike every season now and its by far the best feeling in the world riding a new bike but f you are saying money is no object i would go for something around a 2008/9 cr85 will be perfect. and you wont loose any money selling on in 6months;)

I race alot, for a 10 year old don't go no bigger than an 85 or a CRF 150 as will pull his arms off and if he wants to race they won't let him compete on a 125. If money is no object to you buy a new one, learnt my mistake by buying a 2 month old one that wend bang and cost me more than i could of got a new one. It's not cheap either spent about 40k in 3 years competeing at club level

another thing to think about is your location towards dealers to get parts and so on but i would definatly go for a honda prob the most reliable bikes out there

lol yeah def need to think about parts they need LOTS of maintenance.

you can still trash an engine on a brand new bike without too much trouble if your unlucky. my friend had a brand new ktm250 he was doing an enduro and one of the clips on the air filter came off and the engine dragged a little sand through it, not good.
