i've never personally been a fan of drilled or slotted rotors.. they tend to fatigue and crack/fail easier under abuse than solid rotors. just my opinion though.. :)

Could you please specify what you would like to buy?? If its just disks then I personally just get mine from ebay (for standard set) but if you want a brake conversion then for tuning you want a Willwood or K-sport kit.

I'm going to be upgrading mine on my ep82 to a willwood kit which are 4 pot calipers with larger disks and pads to fit. (Direct bolt on replacement ). I haven't bought or experienced them yet but have heard very good reviews on here. You can get them online from tm-developments.

The k-sport kit is a 6 or 8 pot I think depending on the disk size also.

Other members on here have also converted to celeca brake kits which can be single piston or 2 pots but slight modifications are required such as spacer sizings etc.
Hope this helps,
Tom.

I have to disagree here - I had an R5GT once upon a time, and went through about 2 set of standard solid rotors/dics....I switched to a good set of drilled and vented disc's and they were on it until I sold it! I guess it depends on what you buy I guess......If its just the cheap crappy drilled n vented things u see on ebay there not going to last!

When it comes to brakes and things that we put our lives in the hands of I guess its best to stay with good brands and recommended items.

MarcoGTTurbo, of course anything good quality will last, but i'm talking of putting two good quality rotors side by side. the drilled and slotted one has more failure points (where the holes and slots sit) compared to the solid disc.. true or not..?

@ dark_knight - have to disagree again......A slotted rotor has approximately twice the life of a stock rotor. The design of the slotted rotor does this by expelling excess heat out of the slots even during excessive braking. This cuts down of the wear of the rotor. When slotted rotors are used, a car will have a smoother and shorter stopping distance when braking than a solid rotor

If you pay for cheap then cheap is normally what you get.

I'd love to run more Fast road brake package Group Buys but the market now compared to when i started is its just impossible to get 5 people minimum.

i think you are missing my point MarcoGTTurbo.. all i'm saying is, there is more risk when it fails. take an instance of CF. it's very tough and light, but compare that to say.. mild steel for instance, if you dinged CF hard enough, it would crack and shatter.. while MS would bend and buckle.

my argument is that, there is more risk of failure from a drilled and slotted rotor than a solid one. leave lone the lifespan and/or efficiency of the same aside.. :)

I have a set of drilled and grooved front discs from that seller through ebay and they have been spot on. Had them on the car about 4 years and never had any issues. Lasted longer than the 3g discs I had, after 3 years they were pretty worn :s

let's just conclude that how long your brakes generally last will depend on what rotors and pads you have.. and HOW you drive.. :)
