Other requests for sections on this site have been denied due to bandwidth etc, but why have a section for old, locked, crappy threads that are totally useless?

Why not get rid of it and get a more useful section created?

Maybe I should edit and put A SECTION was refused :D

Ps. You never got back to me about that glove box! And thanks for the ABS sensor.

I can appreciate the need for more sections but a spotted thread imo I dont think we need surely that could be posted in the general chat section for the amount of time the thread will last?

what about leaving the thread for 5-15 mins with the delete message then just getting rid of it saving server space?

That sounds like a good idea that way we free up forum space and the message gets to the people who have broken the forum rules

to highlight persistant spammers and bullshit artists.

If the threads are simply deleted, like they were on our old site, then persistant spammers continue to spam and their locked threads go unnoticed.

We have not got any bandwidth issues with our new host so these are not taking up any space. We also have no issues with adding other forum sections to the site if there is a valid requirement.

mate if you have so much spare time on your hands that you go looking through a muppetshow section and pick out some useless posts (by the way all posts in there are useless) then I suggest you move further up the forum and read some of the interesting content. Its at the bottom of the forum list for a reason.

nope. we give out infractions for certain behaviour. the muppet section allows us reference this behavious to persistant offenders who say "but its my first time" etc...

Maybe it is time a warning system was brought in to affect, which actually shows in the posters bar, like under their post count or something?

This way it is obvious to see they are persistant offenders...and well, they should be reading the rules/stickys anyway!
