I know of 2 of my mates cars that randomly caught on fire a MG Zr, fire started in the boot on his drive and a mk3 golf smoke started coming out of passenger footwell while he was driving, he pulled over to have a look and it and he could not put it out.

Doesnt smoke at all!

Just had a report back from the fire brigade, the highest heat spot was jus behind the dash so we believe it was an electrical fault that caused the fire! Whoever had the car before had tv's in the car and we found 6 aerials in the car at one point! Maybe it was those!

Cars being taken away tomoro, so he can move on now and get something else, hes being paid out, thank god! Looking into a skoda fabia vrs!

Shit thats bad mate!!

and im sorry but why not just get another glanza?! maybe im missing the point but that sounds like the most logical idea, especially if he wanted one really abdly and has lots of parts to put on it etc..?!

but that is pure bad look ive never heard of that happening before my mates punto caught on fire because he earthed his amp to the rear lights the pleb..:homer:

but dont let it put you off getting a glanza mate that was just really REALLY bad luck..

I'd watch what you say about what could of possibly caused the fire.

Insurance companys will try anything to riggle out of paying. And a member of Sky Insurance is a member on this forum ;)

this happened to me in my Saxo VTS woke up with my mum saying CHRIS there is smoke coming from under ur bunnet ran down stairs to see smoke beltching out took the fire brigade 15 mins to get there by that time the flames were 15ft high best of it was the cars insurance ran our 2 days b4 and i put it off the road as i was running about in my golf

ended up there was 5 cars done that night a rag over the front wheel and set on fire by the time it caught fire they were long gone

police said with a smile on his face "well ull never not insure ur car again will u son" felt like kicking him square in the balls

on another note you say it was maybe a electrical fault ... he didnt fit a sterio or amp did he just before the fire as i have seen this happen due to the amp wire being pushed throguh the bulk head and just nicking the plactic coating and a spark arcing on the bulkhead

anyway pure gutted for him just glad he had insurance
