this is good stuff mate. i also went down the same road but din't strip the car down to the engine block. only did mostly the suspension and interior since i didn't have proof of care from the previous owner so took a little look for myself to check that all was well with handling. on my engine however, i just did the basics; new belts, plugs, filters and oil. will wait to gather courage like you and strip it down perhaps a little later on.. :D

Mate to be honest, there is nothing to stripping these little cars down. They are so easy to work on, this is the first project I've worked on and have not yet encountered and major issues.

It's been off the road 15 months and I cant wait till I have it back!!

15 months is a long minute!! i only had mine off the road for about 3 months since i needed to get it back to be my daily driver. i, unlike you however, :) am putting back the oem parts so long as they are not faulty and if faulty, then i get oem replacements since i'm not looking at big power. i'm mostly after reliability and floss factor (a show pony.. that can kick a honda's ass if it wanted to) lol :D

Thats good work there and i hope that the engine will see some good action.
Unlike many others i have seen being broken soon after.

So much of hard work needs full satisfaction. :)

oil filter relocation

now that you have the engine out and hopefully some time and money on your hands, why don't you get an oil filter relocation kit..? ..coz it sure looks cramped there now with the s/w plate.. :|
