174 for the obd1 engine, mines is the obd2 which is around 185-190bhp standard form, vw never gave an actual hp for the obd2 but when dyno'd thats what they show, my mates got a totaly standard 1 and it dynod at 192hp,

mines has 2.5 exhaust system w-decat, bmc cda and schrick cams so over 200hp i would think.
