there's internet rumours that they were "Overrated" from factory...

Plus it's 13yr old car, and when dyno'd he hadn't realised the VVT Solenoid bolt had been sheared previously...plus the Dyno place were absolute monkeys - recording about 40% drivetrain loss for most of the cars there

they were overrateda at 176 (approx) and were more like 155-160. Starbos are older and make like 110 at the wheels stock still. I'm guessing the fact the vvt solenoid was broken is the suspect.

yeah, the blacktops were reputed to have "175bhp" but as you say, 130whp was more accurate, which equates to roughly 155-160bhp at a 15% drivetrain loss (pretty much typical)

As said by Riko, when rolling roaded I had a broken VVT solenoid so the Variable Valve Timing wasn't engaging properly, so chances are if I had it rolling roaded again now it would acheive a higher figure.

Also as said, they were over-rated in terms of the @ flywheel figure

Thankyou for the offer, but would never get insured on a VR6, and after something more cheap & cheerful for my next car
