hey guys. Let me start off, my name is joe im from the states. i have a 93 paseo with a 4efte. i have a high flow turbo mani, and down pipe. i have no idea of what to do with this thing. i need a new clutch and i have a paseo trans. can i use a paseo clutch? so while i am tearing every thing out i was thinking about doing a td04 turbo. from a wrx but i have no idea where to get injectors or em. can i just use a safc to tune the car? and i think im the only 4efte in my STATE haha. and i also have a 5efe laying around. if i do the tdo4 do i need some kind of em or can i use a safc because im kinda limited to 4efte parts.......just tell me info about this motor because i have no idea wehere to begin....sry for the long post

hello mate...good engine choice....You can run your car with an apexi safc so you can increase fuel in the rpm points you need. Oem injectors are good for 180-200 horsepower the maximum. From that point you will need bigger. You can fit rx7 injectors 550cc thats what i fit to my engine. In any case safc is necessary. With oem map sensor you can increase boost to 1.15 maximum. Also if you are stock engine becareful with rods....

so i can run a td04 with stock injectors? at 1 bar? lol is 1 bar 14.5 psi? what about the fuel pump?thanks for your help

at 1 bar i would not recommend although there are many that ran their engines in this pressure and they hadnt any problem. My opinion to change injectors with bigger ones. Fuel pump you can replace it with a walbro 255lt or a toyota supra oem fits bolt on. its up to you what to choose...

To use TD04 at 14psi. You would need supporting fueling mods as explained. Walbro Fuel Pump, FPR, Bigger Injectors. Also a FMIC would be benefical. The SAFC Neo can be used to tune the car. But an Emanage would be better. The Emanage Ultimate at that! But you can settle for the Blue if $$$ is an issue. Also i am located between FL and the Caribbean. So if you ever need 4EFTE parts give me a holla. Where in the US exactly are you?

im near the chicago area. how much would that emanage cost? and would any tuner beable to use this. i know a guy that tunes wrx opensouse.. i also have a 02 wrx:)...lol thats why i have this spare td04. because i upgrades my wrx to a td05 evo3 16g. im a little tight on money thats why i asked about the safc.......and can a paseo clutch fit on the 4efte i have a paseo trans.

The paseo clutch will work on the 4efte flywheel as long as it is "210mm or 212mm" something like that. But not if it is the smaller clutch like the one that comes on tercels.

Any form of engine management could be used, not just emanage, its just because one person gets one and likes it everybody seems to jump on the bandwagon and love it :homer:

Its best to get the management your tuner prefers working with, this way you will get the best map you can

munday, see thats the problem im probly the only person in my state that has a 4efte.....i think i will probly just go with a safc because i can get that for cheap around by me.......how much do td04 exhaust manifolds go for? thanks for all your help guys....remember im from the states so if i need somthing it has to be most likly from a diff country or off ebay.

Dosent matter what the engine is he is maping it to be a good tune so as someone said go with what the local/best tuner is good at.

As for clutch, if it has stock 4EFTE flywheel you need the 212mm clutch not 200mm as comnmonly used on paseo/na starlet etc. If struggle to find supply, a 87 on AW11 (mk1 MR2) clutch will fit (NA not the SC one) altho if going for a TD04 might be best to fit an uprated one ( is it ACT? Do a range of upated clutch's should sort you out.)
