Depends what you you want economy wise I guess, if you want 40+ mpg a nice VAG diesel would do the trick.

I have a Toledo TDi, comfortable and very economical (60mpg) but maybe wouldnt have enough poke. A 150bhp PD engine might have though.

Never thought of one of them johnny you ever been in one?

well i have a toldeo, which is more or less the same car but a saloon, and is remapped close to what the cupra is power wise, and it goes quite well for a turf burner!
the cupra r's are comfy and look well, great mpg, what more would u want when saving for a house?
you would want a cheaper one,but just to give you an idea.

you're leaving me the only impreza owner on this site then:(

you had a lovely ride but it's true if you're saving for a house an econimical car is a must. luckily i have a house, the impreza and another cheap economical run around but considering keeping the impreza as a daily runner coz they both have high road tax but then again the impreza has the drinking habit as you know:mad: ah decisions decisions....
