Basically my clutch was slipping at around 4k RPM, so got new greenspeed stage 1 clutch, when the garage removed it they said they were surprised it was slipping as there was a fair ammount left on it, the clutch slave cylinder was also replaced

Now for the first time in 2 weeks, it slipped again once around 4k RPM again,it seems when its hot it occasionally slips whats causing this ?

Thanks

it should not slip with your new clutch it would be well fit for more, is it a trusted garage that did the work for u.

Well the thing is, as the previous clutch was in pretty fair condition, i dont think i even need a new clutch in the first place as the same problem is happening again, but i dont know whats causing it,

Its an independant garage and the guy who fitted it built and S13 and now has an RX-7, but i dont think its what the garage has done and its repeating of what happened before i even got a new clutch for it :/

did the give u back your old clutch, it sounds like your old clutch is still in there

Yep they showed my old clutch it was a stage 1 excedy, i saw that it wasnt overly worn, but there was evidence of it slipping, but now its doing exactly the same i can't work out why its happening, clearly the clutch didnt need replacing so ive wasted some money as its somthing else thats causing it :/

Check the free play on the clutch pedal and adjust it if necessary.

You should have approx 10mm free play give or take before any resistance can be felt through the pedal. Insufficient free play will affectively be riding the clutch which will cause it to slip once it overheats.

What if you had too much freeplay? i know that when i put my foot on the clutch there is no resitance maybe for 20-30mm but its really hard to judge as its only though my foot :p

when you gave the car to the garage did you say change the clutch or fix the car? if you told them to fix it bring it back and get them to do that.
