nah mate. just cos the piping looks different to most of the fmics. got a pic of the engine bay?

Hello and welcome bit of a bad start to starlet life, Can you not get in touch with the guy you bought it off and ask why he sold you a car with a fubar'd engine?

I did think of that, went to Advice Beareau and they said if he's not a registered trader i can't get a penny back, i gave him my clio 172 and he gave me the starlet and some cash, thought it was a good deal as i was looking for a starlet, then this happened!

it's been stripped today mate, the problem has been identified... pics say more then words...

heres the sump with some loveley metal going down it

It was number 3, bottom end shell has smashed into a million pieces...

Does this bottom end shell look ok? It's number 2 but just wondering if the others were damaged by the metal dust in my engine

id get the phone and phone that fucker!! if you dont get a penny back i would tell him some nice words ! and tell him that you forgot to give him a spare key of the clio! ;)

he would think that you know his adress and have a key to the clio. then he could give you some money back or you make him change the keys haha

Yeah i have tried to ring him about 2 or 3 times each day since i got the car, he doesn't switch it off it just rings through to answer machine, i might try spare key trick!

Would you say starlets are reliable? My mate has a punto Gt and he is constantly leaning over the bonnet! He sais starlets are more reliable then his car though!

yep they are!! well there has been some guys over here that had some trouble... but normaly if you take care of it it will take care of you.

and about the punto... well its a fiat!
