Noticed oil coming out of the bov and cars smoking if left on idle for 10mins, what could this be?

if its spitting out of the bov could be turbo oil seals on the intake side...aswell as if its smoking...how much oil is it spitting...its not uncommon for a little bit naturally.

Clean it up and see how much its pushing out, also get a compression test done asap, any garage should be able to do this for you if you are unsure and doesn't take long at all.

If it is ringland damage then unfortunately yeah its gonna cost quite a few pennies :(

if your doing everything bar the machining of the block yourself then its a lot cheaper, I should imagine a forged build could be done for around £1k? maybe less...

advantages? run big boost :D if you have a turbo that can do it :p

forging would be a good idea if the whole engine was pie..but it just sounds like turbo selas to me...if you want to run bit boost etc...got to get all the correct cooling, fuelling, sus, brakes aswell so it adds up..lol..worth it tho"
