P.S Here are the sump plug adaptors: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MSPORT&pcode=LMA120
At the belt end of the standard oil filter housing there is a plug that can be removed, and replaced with a bolt that has a hole drilled in it and threaded the same size as the temp sender. Drill a small hole in the pas bracket for the wires to pass through and you have it done.

Been told that the oil temp gauge is not working as its not getting hot enough via the braided line to send a signal.
Was looking at Weejohns idea below:
Anyone think this would be a mission or is it just a case of finding the right size bolt & line?

i'v got mine plumbed in like that and works very well.
its the oil pressure i cant get a good contact to the mechanism thats on the block so the gauge flickers everywhere. pises me off!
I am trying to figure out where the heck was this double adapter fitted in the engine. Finally got the 2 gauges fitted. The pressure gauge works fine but for some reason the temp gauge is not working. I got this fitted by a garage so not sure what could be the reason for it not to work.
Pic below
The temp sensor is the bit that looks slightly frayed on the end with two wires coming out.
Its one of these Frankie, thinking about getting one for mine. Screws into the factory oil pressure sensor on the front of the block.I am trying to figure out where the heck was this double adapter fitted in the engine.
Yes thats the one, you will need a 1/8th bstp adapter as that's the size of the thread on the block. I think you can only get oil pressure from here though. The adapter only has a 1/8th bstp port for the factory oil pressure switch and a 1/8th npt port for your aftermarket oil pressure sensor. I get my oil temperature reading from the blanked port on the side of the oil filter housing.View attachment 7454
Is it this oil pressure sensor? Is it here I can screw in the adapter for both oil pressure and oil temperature?
This is good. It means that I can avoid using the sandwich. Could you please tell me which one is the blanked port on the side of the oil filter?I get my oil temperature reading from the blanked port on the side of the oil filter housing.
Sorry I just saw the picture of the blank port on the side of the oil filter. Did you just screw the bolt off and screw in the adapter?Yes thats the one, you will need a 1/8th bstp adapter as that's the size of the thread on the block. Pretty much yeah, you do need another adapter though. This one in m16 x 1.5.Sorry I just saw the picture of the blank port on the side of the oil filter. Did you just screw the bolt off and screw in the adapter?
This is a great achievement because I was gonna abandon this gouge thing because of the silly procedures to install them on this engine. So yesterday we got rid of the sandwich and checked the blanked bolt. We took it out and checked the depth behind the bracket. We have around 2 cm. We will have to cut the adapter I bought from England or buy the adapter you suggested in the link. On the other side the oil pressure gouge should be fine but we still have to try it. The sandwich plate failed because it started leaking after several months. I wonder why nobody shaped a sandwich for this car.Pretty much yeah, you do need another adapter though. This one in m16 x 1.5.

You will have to drill a small hole in the power steering bracket to run the wire through though.
