Omex Launch Controller

I am planning to get an " Omex Launch Controller " for my 4efte . was wondering a few things

1-) Is this harmfull for the engine ? ,i will only be using for drags
2-) Which one is compatible for the 4effte , single coil or twin coil one ?
.

Any help will be greatly appreciated with reps

'manual' launch control

well, the only launch control i use are both feet.. :) hehe, so can't help you on omex.. :D
how about checking other forums (not necessarily toyota starlet ones) and you may just land some information on the device you are hoping to order..

Thanks mate .

I emailed my questions to the omex support team. This is the answer i got

"the 4EFTE appears to have 2 wires to the ignition coil which should mean that it is non-amplified, making it suitable for use with our system. Can you please confirm this by measuring the resistance between the two wiring terminals on the coil. It should be approximately 1ohm. If it is several thousand ohms then it is not suitable.

I see no reason why it would not be safe.

It cuts sparks.

There is no safer option. Soft cut starts cutting a percentage of sparks at an engine speed just before the ultimate rev limit at which point it will do a hard cut. The hard cut option simply does not do the ‘soft cut’ part."

Can anyone explain the resistance part ? its confusing for me to understand that . Is the Omex Rev limiter with Launch controller ( single coil ) compatible with our 4efte ?

Well the primary coil is less then 1 ohm looking in this diagram and the secondary is between 10 and 14 ohm, you need to pass this diagram or info over to Omex so they can confirm it's compatible.
