No worries ta dude

Car is a real minter mate, be a shame to break it/sell it due to others putting the boot in, lot of it comes down to envy and jealousy at the end of the day. As previously said though, good luck with whatever you decide mate.

I must say i have taken more of a disliking to the forum of late, too many people giving advice on aspects they have no hands on knowledge about - and quite often given wrong/misleading information.
When i was on the old forum 6 years ago it was very different, information was not shared as easily as it is today and the most common reply in any technical thread was SEARCH.lol
The new forum is better, as people are prepared to answer questions and help more readily, but a common trend is the same questions being asked day in day out - do people not search any more? This also appears to have created more keyboard warriors who simply regurgitate inforamtion which they do not fully understand.

here here Edd,the amount of false information ive seen pass on here as of late is a joke.
the amount of topics on stickys with usefull info is excellant, but people are to lazy to search.
and its usually the same questions over and over.

X2 Matey one of the reasons why I again got rid of most of my members garage and have stopped putting pic's of the car up etc etc culminating in me now selling up too. It's a real shame

im sorry krissy, dont mean to have a dig,but to me that sounds a bit silly.
you would go to the effort, time, cash, and hard work,so that when someone runs it down or gives you a neg comment towards it,you break the car or give up??
fuck the keyboard warriors,lol!

that is the spirit that attracted me to this forum to begin with. I never tuned my Glanza in any great way or took it as far as I could have. I did what I wanted to do with it and was happy with it. These big HP cars are very interesting to read about but as soon as the threads turn in to a pissing competition I just dont bother reading anything else about the project. The projects people seem to be most interested in are the ones where the cars speak for themselves.

Cracking completely agree, im not one of the longest standing members but most members on here have always been very helpfull and friendly and would hate to see some idiots ruining it =)

Missed all of this, but it seems apparent from the thread that it was pretty bad.
Now the last time i remember a thread going up like this was on the older server and it was over a young lad called Cal who during his stay caused arguments each and every day due to his plans, statments etc.

Now,have we gone back to that?
I hope not, that was one of the times i seen the uglier side of people on the forums over pure frustration.
Relax, let people say what they want and think what they want. Its your car and your decision, just remember, this is a public forum and everyone is entitled to their point of view once put forward in a constructive manner, although constructive does not mean correct,so don't take it to heart.

As for the forum in general, lately i've noticed alot of new names, and while 80% are good hearted and pretty much the "usual" member on here, the other 20% seem to post comments just to get a reaction. It used to be if you didnt like a car/picture/set up/plan you either wouldnt post or you'd make your position known in a friendly manner as in
"Not my cup of tea,but best of luck with it"
Now its a blunt
"I dont like it" "Looks Crap imo" or the best one "No offence, but it looks shit"

Id like to see it revert to the older "nicer" way.
And its not just TGTT i've noticed this on,it seems to be happening on 90% of the forums im a member of.

Lighten up:)

I'd have to agree with a lot of the comments here why cant we all just get along we all bought our cars because we love em and as long as they make us happy then it doesnt matter what narrow minded people think the people that love there Gt's or Glanza's will still have them when a lot of the childish non enthusiast's will have sold up and moved on to something else and another forum

I don't know how but I seem to have missed all this commotion. I agree with this thread and its one of the reasons I stopped using it before. I was getting snide comments about my car from other members pulling out there dicks to prove theirs were bigger than mine. I have been a member since 2002 but took a break from it around the start of 2008 when my Glanza came off the road and didn't see the point of all that crap when I wasn't driving my car.

I have decided to put the car back on the road again at the end of last year and have been slowly working at it over the past few months so I came back on and have been active almost everyday since.

I hope that none of my comments have caused offence to anybody. Id like to think I have been of some use to some of the other members even if it was only a little help. I try to give advice that is as accurate as I can and generally help people out if I know the answer or point them in the right direction if I don't but I have noticed a little nastiness of late and hope that this post puts a stop to it because it isn't nice

Regards

William

well good to see everyone letting it go under the bridge.

just for anyone who thinks from the way animal and spuddy banter, that they hate eachother or whatever.

here is the truth, when these two were building these monsters and go through the motions of bigger bits and larger turbos spuddy was open about what was on his car,

spuddy weejohn ted chris jay heck half of NI wound sean up about keeping his spec secret and what did he do?

he rang spuddy up and they met up had a yarn and went for a spin in animals car.

two decent blokes im sure.

and when the starlets turn up at bishopscourt or wherever its always good seeing them do well against bigger machinery.
weejohn and ted have been enjoying ganging up on the opposition and sharing info for years at the strip.

but that doesn’t take away the competition between the two when the helmets are on and they line up against eachother.

its best to have a laugh and enjoy the fact that your doing starlet owners and enthusiasts proud the world over.

Very well said Phil and its very true!

With my car and AnimalGTs car I would be fairly confident in saying when it comes to each others setup we know more about each others car then the average member on here. He's kept secrets about my setup and I've kept secrets about his. Last year he give me a call and said swing in at the house, he showed me under the bonnet, explained a few bits about his build and was very open. He showed me the big 75G TD09 turbo an everything :p

Just to set the record straight, we met up the other day and there wasn't one angry word said between us and there never has been, it's always been things being said online that push us to bitching at each other and not always our own fault.

Meeting up with him has got me wondering though, how we can stop the bitching and the only conclusion is, since its about racing then we'll organise some sort of Battle of the Titans, me and him over to the Pod, get AZE_B/PP with their monster build and any other 300+ Motor that wants to get involved and the arguments will stop.

Same track, same day, same chance. Whoever sets the quickest time, gets free beer :p

The more the merrier :)

We'll need to organise a date, was thinking in around Easter. It's a bit tricker for me and AnimalGT cause we have to get boats an all so will have to see when suits the 2 of us.

It should be a good day!

Although in my original post I said 300+hp, it would be open to everyone, but I want to get as many of the big ponnie EPs as possible.
