if the process is only activated on shut down - no amount of screenshots of task manager will help you. If your IT infrastructure is half decent (which i would have thought it would be if you have an 'IT dept') then you should have firewalls/dmz's in place that should block any virus's etc.

its probably just a group policy that comes into effect on shut down or something similiar - the icon can be whatever the IT dept choose/create.

Personally see no problem with that list  and i googled the ones i wasn't sure of, only to find out they're windows services... fail on my part!

Only thing i can think of... could be part of the shut down feature of your firewall... what is it, McAffee i'm guessing (from McTray.exe)??

yeah you've also got mcaffee installed which should pick anything up that gets past the firewall etc.

Uh-oh... i didn't read about the 'it dept' part and thought it was your home PC, fool!!

Yeah as Cornish-Glanza says it's most definately a network related thing! Logoff scripting perhaps, either way it almost definately isn't anythin to worry about (IF as Cornish-Glanza says it's a decent infrastructure) :)

thanks for all the info

However as i mentioned could it be something that is recording the websites we go on as it is on a work computer (and i only tend to go on here, facebook and hotmail and bbc sport). I assume that as it shows a flashing red and green eye on the rabbit meaning that is it spying on you and remains hidden whilst your on the computer so that you dont click on and try to delete it.

I'm tempted to ask around the office, but if they don't have it and i do then they may get a bit suspicious as to why i've got it on mine.

Thanks

Could be a conspiracy ;-)

Chances are you're definately accessing the internet thru a proxy, which means it'll all be being logged! Number of ways to check if you are, some easier than others, but google will tell you how to do the easy ones :)

Yeah see what the word on the street is - if anyone asks about a system i've implemented (i'm in the IT dept!) then i'd be glad to tell them what it is and be pleased they've shown an interest, so don't be scared of them and just ask what it does :D

To be honest, it'll be very unfair if it is some sort of internet spy software and i'm the only one who has it installed on my PC in the office as the others i work with spend a lot more time on the internet and thats including playing games. One of the colleagues even has the internet up even when the manager walks in the office.

UPDATE

Just before i shut down the PC around 5 minutes ago i called one of my colleagues over who knows a bit about computers to have a look at the icon. He said that is something to do with an Anti-Virus program running on the PC.

I guess the IT department must have installed it remotely.

Users = Fail is true however the below equation is also true...

Users + Problems = Issue for the IT Dept = Our Salary :-D

Yeah some of our A/V is installed locally or remotely through GP... each to their own way of working! ... Still convinced it's a conspiracy and if i were a user i'd be taking it personally and throwing biscuits at them (IT) in the tea room :D

How is that generally all users hate the IT Dept's? Does my little nut in sometimes. We never get any appreciation when the mainframes tickety boo, but as soon as something fails we're instantly the bain of there lives lol Or if they manage to fuck something, it's somehow our fault!
