is it a free air way 2 way valve or a 1 way valve

and if its a 1 way valve but broken so it was a free flow both ways would that put oil into the pistons and then smoke

its a one way valve that closes under boost, as to not allow pressure coming from the plenum into the top cover.

so if it was feck so it was free flow both ways would that let oil into the engine ???

more likely it would let boost into the engine & cause the engine to choke (possible), but it would let oil into the plenum more than usual thats for sure...

well i had oil in the pistons and fort rings had gone but did a comp test and they are 165psi across all 4 (cold tested) so know its not there so the only other place were oil could get in is the pcv as i check intercooler pipes and they are bone dry so think its come from there as i cant find any other place were it could come from ??????? any forts

hmm that is an interesing one, only other place maybe oil could seep though is the valve seals, unless the gasket went internally if from an oil passageway to the bores.. which is nigh impossible, but u never know.. is ur turbo ok? then again it cant be that much oil has passed through the piping..

is the head ok? ie uncracked etc, but still very hard to get what ur discribing...

wait a sec just thought of something, if one of ur rings is stuck, ull still have good compression, BUT oil will pass through.. as the oil scraper (bottom ring) is the one which doesnt allow oil to pass up, it doesnt affect in a compression test..

no engine has only just bein fully checked and new head gasket fitted and the engine its self only done 74km and its full forged as well but builder that check it as i took it from my old 300bhp gt said it was mint and very strong as well ??? but after i cleaned the plugs 3 times and blocked the intake pipe from the pcv valve it stopped smoking just wanted to make sure that there was no other way but very unlikely that its from any were else think it just me being paranoid

ahh didnt know that, so in any case it could be the pcv or the engine being tilted when being dropped in which could result in some oil residue here & there, which yes takes time to get rid off, u did the right think though venting the pcv to the atmosphere & blocking the plenum up, one of the 1st things we do here lol, as u dont really want oil going into ur intake lol...
