starlet gtt ep82. started car up today and left it idling for a while, went to look at the temp guage and it was above normal, i noticed the heater wasnt blowing warm and the fan cuts in, gently unscrewed the rad cap which was under alot of pressure. looked at the dipstick and the oil is really milky, but it has been since i got it and the car hasnt been on road for about 10 months. just wondered if there was any bleed screws in the cooling system, and peoples thoughts on the matter. im not worried about doing the headgasket, its trying to find a head gasket and headbolts thats my biggest fear. cant seem to find anywhere that sells these things unless u go for an upgraded gasket which is about £200.

You can never be to certain but with a milky substance in your oil and alot of pressure may well be.

I would do a leak down test through your radiator and then go from there.

you can get headgasket kits from camskill or tm-developments

you dont need to pay £200 for a upgraded 1

if your gonna be doing a full rebuild just a buy a gasket kit from toyota....it will have every seal you need. also i would do the timing belt, tensionor and idler.

about the 2nd gear synchro. unless you have the tools and the know how you will be replacing the whole tranny not the synchro. transmission work is more tedious, delicate, expensive then engine work.

if you want to see what i mean heres a DIY c52 transmission rebuild which is the same as the ep82 4efte c52 tranny but with different final drive.
