failure#1- switched from running royal purple to conventional valvoline due to a leak and not wanting to leak $7 per quart royal purple. 3 days later pulling the car into the chop for a random inspection at work and noticed a slight tap in the oil pan. drove it home and by the time i got it home had a badly spun #4 rod bearing.
Failure#2 same car 3 months after the rebuild, low oil pressure worn bearing in the ct9 with lots of shaft play, missing blades, burning oil.
Failure#3 same car replaced turbo with a used ct9 and carcked the wastegate and blew the oil seals in the turbo.
Failure#4 sold the car, new owner spun 1 rod bearing, and cracked 1 piston which i will attribute to using cheap ebay pistons and rings.

Failure #1 racing a ninja 600 in 3rd gear, about 75mph or so and ringlands on 1,2, and 4 gave way. lesson learned be patient and get it tuned before racing.
Same car now tuned for 15psi and running 15psi
Failure#1&2. driving on the interstate, ran low on oil spun #3 rod bearing, pulled into a gas station, got her up on a jack, pulled oil pan off, put new bearing in, put it back together, got back on the interstate, made it another 10 miles or so and same thing. got it towed home.
I'll get pics up later, its late and i'm tired.
