where i work i process royal mail, thats from 2-10pm and if no other courriers company's need to be done

cant say am with it as there are hundreds of thousands of important documents that need to reach thier destinations like, cheque's, health letters (someone may have a serios condition and waiting for treatment) police letters, school letters, uni's, applications, etc..........

but if your working where i am it will be alot easier now with the strike,

royal mail will now be officaily known as royal fail, after these strikes thier reputation will probz go down........but then again no one does strikes for the fun of it and maybe its something serious, maybe noone is listening to them and this way they want to be heard?

thats why i cant say am with it or without,

just good luck to everyone waiting fo those important parcels, letters etc..........

I'm against it, but only because they're going to be holding up the registration process of my new V:mad:

Admittedly I don't understand the reason's why they're striking though...

Im not to fussed about the strike myself, im sure they have there reson's for doing it...

The other smaller curior(spelling) company's will do well at this time as people wanting things to be delivered will go else were than royal mail, in the end people will lose trust in royal mail and the smaller company's will come out on top...

If it's got to be done then it'll be done.

Can't say much sitting here as I don't work for RM. But I hate when mails late! Don't we all! They have their reasons i'm sure.

Why is it happening?

Royal Mail and the CWU are at odds over pay and pensions. Royal Mail has offered a 2.5 per cent one-year pay increase. The CWU wants to bring postal workers’ pay into line with the national average wage of £395 a week within five years — a rise of 27 per cent. Royal Mail also wants to end the final-salary pension scheme for all employees. This move is threatening to provoke additional strikes from its managers.

27 per cent pay rise is ridiculous, and there should be an end to final salary pensions, pensions should be brought into line with the private sector, there is too much of a division.

I'm against it, because like others think that if you don't like your job, find another. Simple really. I sent some car parts yesterday first class recorded, forgetting there was a strike. It wasn't advertised in the post office and im a bit fucked off now the guy wont get them for a few days.
