mine failed an emmisions test wen i asked them 2 check b4 my mot and it was really bad with the decat
i stuck cat bak in and it passed no probz then took cat bak out lol

Am i right in thinking that us GT owners can just gone on a basic emissions test if they're registered before Nov 95?

he said i need to pay the partial test fee to retest it if they didnt do the work on it, which is half the mot so £17.50

its gona take me too long to source a new cat, and my turbo is on its way out i think its smoking bad, so maybe fitting the td04 kit, new td04l turbo, and decat might even be better than what it is now,

also my rear spoiler light is gone, and ive found out thats led and cant be fixed so thats another 80 odd quid finding a new spoiler off here! just not my day lol

you see thats the annoying thing, ive taken my cars there for the last couple of years, always been fine, now they are being twats for no reason at all, and they clearly dont understand how to do their job properly. Im not gona let up with this, im gona ring vosa or whoever regulates car testing and get the right details and go back to the mot place and prove them wrong, also reporting them to vosa for incorrectly testing my vehicle if im correct.

so much for being loyal to one garage ayy :(

dont worry josh next weekend me and ollie should be able to fitt your stash of td04 parts ;) then we will take it to my tester. as iv said dude IT WILL PASS :) im td04, decat and front exit and mine flys through ;)

Hate to break it to you buddy, follow the flow chart and you'll see all imports after July '95 have to go through a normal emissions test. (4th and 5th box down on the far right)

My advice would be to get second-hand cat as previously mentioned, as yours seems fooked.

Glad I also know the lad at the test station.

Mine has only just passed, that's with fast idle test obviously

as i mentioned before, unfortunately half the people on this site have it incorrect.

your waisting your time trying to argue it, best bet is to get a cheapy cat and stick it on

mine originally failed on emissions as the guy was testing it as a standard uk starlet.went to a local garage and explained the situation.the glanza have to go through a default cat test.i was fortunate that my forged engine is from a mk1 gt and all i had to do was prove that it was and now i just have to go through a basic idle test:rockon:
