Private Plate Removal

Hi guys

I'm selling the starlet end of Jan and I need to take my private plate off, do I put this on redemption (sp?) is it? Cost me 105 for a year, if I do that will they give me a new reg for the Starlet? Or my old one back before I put private plate on.

Remember it cost me 80 or so to put the new private one on, but not got a clue how to go about getting it off now

My friend has her's on redemtion(sp) an it cost like £20 a year..

I think DVLA should jus give you the old reg back as its not being used on another car...

Phone them an ask...

had to do this with my gf's car a while back cos the car was getting scrapped and the plate was worth a fair bit from what i can remember she went to the dvla( cos she needed it done quickly) paid about £90 if i remember right and they changed al the v5 and stuff tax disk etc so it all matched the original numberplate. pretty sure they told her to keep the plate on retention was £20 or something a year after the first year but she sold it for money for a new car anyways.

Cost about a ton to change either way I believe.

Pretty sure you get to use previous reg number before change.
