Problem with idle.....????

Guys I've just done a engine rebuild and now I'm running on the streets. When I drive a couple a ours and after that when I stop by a trafficlight the cars starts to idle really low (like around 600rpm). But this happens only if I drive for like half our or something like that. Caus normally it's suppose to idle 800 if not wrong.

My question is what could it be that causes this???

I've allready checked my sparkplugs putted new ones in. One thing I've to say my car doesn't have a Thermostat.

several things you could do/check are:
o make sure crankcase breather is not clogged
o pcv valve & hose should not be clogged as well
o clean out idle control valve
o see if reset ecu fixes it
o clean out throttle body
o air filter obstruction
o check of throttle position sensor is still aligned correctly (and not broken)
o ..

There are countless topics about this.

If you use the search function with "idle" it will most certainly recall a topic with a picture of the screw you need to adjust.

join the club boys, mine will sit at 800rpm then il set off driving and stop again in traffic and the revs will drp down to 500rpm and then fluctuate from 500rpm to 600rpm, if twisted the screw, ajusted the tiny bolt on the accelorator and replaced the breather on top of the engine but still no luck. iv decided that the cars 12 ears old and to just live with it.
although advice on what to do next would be great!!

Using the pic above, you have to screw in an ANTI clockwise direction, to lift the idle.

500 /600 rpm is far to low.

Clean the Idle control valve(far left hand side of the inlet manifold, if looking at the engine)

rite, iv taken it off and cleaned the little inlet thing with a cotton wool bud but I could not see any kind of sensor to clean, I think iv taken the correct thing off, 2 10mm bolts and a vacume pipe in the bottom of it....?

idle problem

i had the same problem with my gt, once hot and idling for any length of time the car would idle eraticly, cured it by holding the revs up for around 60 secs to heat the 02 sensor, eventually ran a 3 wire 02 sensor with a switchable heater circuit once i start it up i wait 20 secs then turn it on idles perfect, my car was at 6 different specialists, none could cure it, till i borrowed my mate japscanner, and current data for upstream 02 sensor voltage shown the car was running lean and 02 sensor not switching til hot now cured worth a try mate, just hold the rev up for a minute @ 2k than see if it idles better, stu.

also

what mods has your car got, if very little backpressure in your exhaust like me you may have the same prob, i tried a single wire sensor from my work£60 helped but did not 100% cure it. toyota ones are dear, lol my new 3 wire one is semi fancy cost £75

Iv got a straight thru stainless manifold, de cat and no back ox just a straight thru pipe.
Iv had it set up and it apart from the revs it runs like a dream.
When i hold my food own for a couple of seconds it sorts it so looks like the o2 sensor.
Il live with it.
