I'm tempted with an uprated inlet at somepoint, but first I want to get it back together then mapped, see the results and start adding things from there on

there is no design and tech involved in these
i know someone who lost almost 30hp from
similar inlet system ...

best ones are acis and standard ones can cope wil a fair amount power

To say something looses 30hp is a bit vauge, what setup was it on?

You could say cams loose you power if you don't operate in their range. An inlet may only become viable at gaining power when revving up past 7000rpm or running 2+bar of boost.

the car had the same setup forged/ greddy td05 14b/cams (unkown)
it made 310hp before the inlet added on then it made 280-285 ish i think (cant remember)

your above point is valid but thats why the acis is best if u can get it to work u have 8 runners not 4
long ones for torque and short ones take over when ur in optimum rpm/power range

Well if there was a straight swap and thats what happened its hard to argue. Was it the inlet in this thread or a different one? You can PM me the brand if you rather not say openly.

Cheers lad.

my friend has krissy b's old inlet on his gt and its running a stock engine with a vf28 running 1.09bar and it made 252bhp and i think 200ft lbs. the car goes extremely well on the road. we didn't get a figure before fitting the inlet on the vf28 im afraid ad we changed the turbo at the same time. as the revs get higher it just pulls harder and harder.

It is easy to get screen shots on the tinter web...

Just to let people know i know ricky quite well and he spent alot of time on these inlets (using solidworks as far as i can remember)

He was designing and testing his design a good 5/6 month before he even anounced he was doing anything with them
Also when they were released he did state they are not a direct fit even saying he made them with high level perfomance in mind not easy fitting ie dipstick in way etc but worked around this.
There was somebody who wasnt happy with there inlet (not mentioning names just making my point) and at that point Rick said if you dont like it, send it back for a full refund !!
ALso clearly stated gains may be made not necisarily at top end but mid range and not without map to suite and there more suite to high power applications.
Hope everyone understands what im saying here

I think its quite obvious that any bolt on kit won't give that much if any performance gain without a remap. Which could be the case said with these inlets.
