anyone have advice on the best way to do this for a decent job?

want to refurb the wheeltrims on my GT. mostly its just the paint that is flaking off, but there is some scratching to them too.

would some flexible plastic filler and some wheel silver do the job ok?

I'd imagine the primer would be the tricky bit, plastic can be difficult to spray at times. Maybe using a primer specific to plastic would make all the difference Duncan.

the original paint doesnt look like its had a primer on before? seems to be the colour straight onto the plastic!!!

I would use a bit of isopon on the scrapes, sand them down nice and smooth ready for primer, u should use plastic primer, leave that set then wet sand them down with some super fine, clean them off then paint and laqure and u have yourself a good job.

i guess i would have to use specific filler for plastic?

the scrapes arent very bad so may get away with a high build primer!?!?

U could lash the high build on with a coat or two and wet sand it nice, the isopon would be fine it will get sealed with the paint and laqure.
