Rear fog light

Right it's MOT time and the ep82 has no rear fog light. I don't fancy a 'juicy dangler' style fog light and am looking for something neater and permanent.

Instead of removing a reverse bulb/sidelight bulb and wiring in to that on the drivers side, is there any way to keep all standard lights and somehow adding an extra bulb/filament or bit of wiring so that two of the four rear lights get brighter when a switch is pressed?

Not sure if the 82 has the same concept as the 91 but my 91 had a spare twin filament bulb in the bottom cluster which I just ran a wire to soldered it in and connected it to a switch on the dash. While I was doing it I took pictures to do a tut but not had the time to ATM.

Just look in the light cluster and see if any of the bulbs are not used or if a twin filament bulb is only using the side light side like the glanza.

For the life of me I couldn't get a red bulb, for where the reverse light is, so I painted the bulb. This works for about 10 minutes of use until the paint burns off!

I've stuck lens repair tape (red tape) over the reverse light bulb. Had this on for about 3 years with no problems.

Obviously you'll need to wire up a switch to activate a reverse light.

You would need to change the fitting that the selected bulbs go into from a single fillament bulb holder to a double if you wanted to fit a double fillament bulb.

You dont notice the reverse light has been removed and a red fog light bulb fitted, at MOT they dont check for reverse lights so to have one as a fog light is ok.

There are two sets of twin filament bulbs from what I can see. These seem to be four filaments for braking and four filaments for driving lights.
Am I right in thinking that I should be able to disconnect the two lower brake wires, take a switched feed from the driving lights to the two disconnected brake filaments and then use those as switched fog lights. This would keep all four driving lights but lose the two lower brake lights (GT seems to have four brake lights)?

Ive not got round to doin mine yet, but Im planning on installing a relay system, where the lower two brake lights become rear fogs when the switch is on, and otherwise u still have 4 sidelights and 4 brake lights.....Im talking of the EP82.....Ive used this system on other imports and it works very well, and have also had no issues at MOT time either.
