Was off eBay, a UK seller, turbo rebuild.co.UK

The kit seemed fine tbh, everything fit properly etc. It's either the turbo is just too worn, or I fucked up sonwhere. Will investigate in the coming weeks and report back with what i find. Going to fit my other rebuilt turbo tomorrow so fingers crossed!!!!

Yeah i've bought off them in the past and had the same problem when rebuilding my own turbo! So then i bit the bullet and bought a kit off fensport and i've covered 6000miles without a problem!

The piston ring will be the wrong size (to big) hence the oil been able to past via the exhaust turbin wheel etc

The one I am fitting tomorrow is originally from an auto diesel estima and was really good condition. The one I rebuilt over christmas did have a hard life, wastegate crack etc.

Looks like mine leaks out both sides, so not good at all :p

Yeah the ct9's always seem to sray in good condition on the diesels even though most of them have seen well into the 100kmiles with it been a diesel must be due to the heat the little 1,3 engine produces! why the wastegates crack so bad

Im useing a Lucida (same as estima) ct9 and im also useing the compressor side as it has 2 fixed mounting points for an actuator to be bolted there for allowing to rotate the compressor housing making for a much shorter intercooler pipe work :)

fitted the estima turbo today and all seems ok. no clouds of blue smoke anyway ;)
only issue i had was that the housing rotations werent quite right, but as it was freshly rebuilt it all rotated back into position easily enough :)

i would have kept the compressor housing is i had a fmic, but as im rolling with the stock setup i thought i would swap it out to keep things simple.

looks like i am on the hunt for another diesel people carrier turbo to make up as a spare :)

i`v attempted this with a 60 euro ebay kit to no avail. I didnt get it balanced afterwards, just alligned everything to markers which i made. The turbo was actually worse afterwards.

i don't really want to spend that kinda money on he car mate. its only my runaround. I got the car resprayed and rebuilt the engine last year, that cost enough.

I also have 2 other starlets if I want to go faster :)

plus the supporting mods to run a larger turbo. mine is bone stock other than an exhaust, adjustable actuator and k&n panel filter ;)
