record PSI on a boosted engine

whats the record boost on an engine? not goin on engine size, or power. just pure boost pressure.

highest ive personally seen is a drag eclipse with the evo engine boosting 86psi

any1 know any higher?

The turbocharged F1 cars reached upto and over 5.0bar (72psi) - apparently I think on Mansell's car, during a race the engine flashed 5.5bar of boost (78.7psi!)...crazy

Pretty sure there's a video of an AMS Evo running stupid amounts of boost

Didnt the ams just run about 40psi.

I say that as if 40psi is low :haha:

Bullshit. I ran 60Psi on my Starlet for ages.

was this on 1 turbo??? 86PSI sounds well and beyond stupid?!

Ive seen 76PSI used between 2 turbos on the old HKS skyline dragster. The turbo were prototypes too so god knows what makes they were.

Also race fuel was used to keep det to a minimum.

yeah dan 86psi dnt specify number of turbos but by looks of bodyshell its only one turbo?

take a look...1400bhp from the 2 litre motor...kon posted a vid of this drag beast, here it is (b4 the repost brigade attack me :haha.
